Mascara for thin lashes
Here's How to Apply It (Finally!)
Last but not least, here’s how to apply mascara according to J.Lo’s MUA Scott Barnes… “I don’t think people realize how much mascara can actually transform your overall look, but I see a lot of problems with how people are applying it. It’s best to get down to the root of the lashes and almost scrub the mascara wand back and forth at the root so that you’re creating a more distinct line in that area before you move to the top of the lashes. Don’t be scared or timid, get assertive at the root so you can create a rich look.” Best mascara for long thin lashes During high school, I wore mascara without fail, every day. I would have rather died than gone to 4th period (Drawing III) rocking the bare lash. “He CAN’T see me without mascara!”

Though on the pricier side, Stila's Huge Extreme Lash mascara is one of the best formulas out there for volume and length. Its formula contains a mix of soft waxes that work to thicken your lashes, while the brush is great for lengthening and defining. The "triple black" color is great for people who like their mascaras black, while the paraben-free and cruelty-free formula is an added bonus. Can you guess the color of a blonde’s eyelashes? The gel-like fibers form a protective barrier over lashes and give mascara something to latch on to, lengthening even the shortest of hairs. And one made with conditioning oils moisturizes lashes to prevent future breakage.

Then it occurred to me to use the all-knowing-power of Google and voila, there is a make-up maker for me, called of all things, Just for Redheads. Doh. I dithered but finally ordered a couple tubes of mascara and a couple shades of eyebrow liner. And what do you know, it looks normal! The lighter shade, ginger cocoa, adds just a little definition for daytime, and the ginger brown is as dark as I'd want to go unless it were Halloween and I was dressing like Chrissie Hind. Same with the eyebrow pencils: they look natural for the first time ever. Not like my great aunt who had red hair and drew hers on with what seemed like a crayon. Mascara on short lashes
In college, I experimented with individual lash extensions glued to my own lashes. This gave me the length and the curl that no mascara could ever endow. However, they also randomly fell off at key moments—sometimes even when I was in the presence of a crush. This made me transition to curler + Dior Show lash primer, followed by a waterproof mascara. If you have straight lashes, lash primers help hold the curl and add about 50% more length. Eventually though, I became vegan and using cruelty-free beauty products became imperative. Like most mainstream luxury beauty brands, Dior is not cruelty-free. How to: Makeup for an Emerald Green Dress "My lashes grow straight and I’ve been frustrated for years using handheld curlers—they just don’t cut for me. Finally decided it was time to get serious and get a heated lash curler. OMG. That’s all I’ve got to say. You have to be careful but wowza does this curl my lashes!" —Linda W.
